I have now made a start on the literary awards. If you go to your profile and select the end tab entitled literary awards, you will see some of the award images that can be achieved. If you let your cursor hover over each image it will give you a brief overview of what you have to do to obtain the award. I will be giving more clear details about how the awards can be achieved as soon as all the awards are in place, there are a number of others yet to come. If you have any thoughts, feedback or suggestions, now is the time as once the awards start being given out, it would be very difficult to make any alterations. Other awards on the list so far to be added... Horror Award Fantasy Award Romance Award Adult Classics Award Autobiography/Biography/Non-Fiction Award Historical Fiction Award The awards will show at a smaller size in the recipients mini profile (my profile currently displays the Harry Potter Award as an example). I think this will add a different dynamic to the forum and it'll be really interesting to see people's mini profiles taking shape based on the books they read. Once the Awards system goes live, this thread will be locked and archived.

Sounds lovely, Hippiejo, but so far I don't see that tab. The last one is "Gift".
ETA: Or are you still working on those, and that's why they are not yet visible?

Ah, I think that they're not visible in other people's profiles until they achieve them.
Not to worry, I have some of the awards in place so I will start the thread with the criteria in for those I've already uploaded.

Just to let you know I have now set the Literary Award Criteria Thread as an announcement so that it can be easily accessed from any board.
Although I want to make the awards accessible to everyone, there should remain an element of challenge to them in order that there is a sense of achievement to earning them.
I have tried to include classics, favourite authors of a particular genre and books that are often on most popular lists. It has taken me some time to research which books to include using a number of different sources especially for those genres that I am not so familiar with myself.
At this point I would really welcome feedback on the criteria. If you think there is a book, author or even another award that should be added, you have until the 1st June to let me know as I would like all of the awards and criteria to be finalised by that date at the latest.
Awards still yet to come:
Political Dystopian/Sci-Fi Historical Fiction Roald Dahl
