I'm currently reading What's Mine and Yours by Naima Coster. I'm reading it as part of the 'Read with Jenna' page over on Goodreads. I'm on page 91 and finding it a bit hard going at the moment.

Does my own book count? Hahaha.
Otherwise I've started re-reading Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments, currently at the first book, The City of Bones. But it's on a stand still these days, while going through my own manuscript (imagine reading the same book, over and over again a thousand times).
I've only read the first three books in The Mortal Instruments series, but hopefully I'll get through the rest at some point.

Are you having to do all the re-reads just to check there is nothing you want to change Susanne?
New current read, starting today: The Phone Box at the Edge of the World by Laura Imai Messina.

I read it through, send it in and then my editor points out a few things I need to focus on and then I re-read again, send it in ,comments from the editor, re-read and send it in.
Just finished another re-read and will be sending it in tomorrow.

I am reading "The Marlow Murder Club" by Robert Thorogood, who wrote the "Death in Paradise" series, which I liked. Not sure about this one. The style is a tad boring, but I will see if it gets any better. Only started, so there is still some to go.
His next book, "The Marlow Murder Club 2" is already advertised on Amazon UK, and is to come out in December 2022. A long way to go...
For those not from the UK, Marlow is a lovely town in Buckinghamshire, England. I used to live close by, but now I live up north.

OK, I managed to read "The Marlow Murder Club" for several nights, but that's it. This book has so much padding, with every page you get to read the same things this main character says. And it all sounds rather infantile, to be honest. I am surprised, because I did like the style of this author when he wrote the "Death in Paradise" books, which they turned into a TV series.
Our local Hospice shop "St. Oswold's Hospice Book Shop" is getting regularly books from me. One time, I also gave them loads of jigsaw puzzles for their patients to use.

Instead of the above horror, I have decided to read again "The Best of Times" by Penny Vincenzi. I love her books. She has a unique style, which I find rather calming. "The Best of Times" is a very long story, it has over 800 pages, but it never gets boring.
It starts off with a lorry that causes a huge accident on the motorway. And then it goes to before where we get to know the characters who will be in this accident. Great story. It got some crappy reviews from some peeps, but then again LOTR isn't everyone's cup of tea either. Doesn't mean is a crappy story.

Reading the first book in the Grisha series, Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. So far I prefer the tv series, hehehe, not that the book is bad, but I have read more thrilling fantasy books. I promise to post a review when I am done.

I have been watching "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" again a couple of days ago, and took the book off my shelves, and am reading it again. The story/characters are slightly different from the film, and - a rare thing for me - I like both versions.

I've added it to my waiting list with world of books

I have finally finished "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" last night. I usually fall asleep after a couple of pages, so it does take me longer to read, especially since I mostly only read at night in bed.
I had forgotten how very different the book is from the film. The only thing that is the same is that a bunch of oldies move to India, to live in the Marigold Hotel. There, all similarities end. The characters are different, and the storyline is different as well. That's the reason I like the book, because it is a completely different story from the film.
Usually I get annoyed when I read a book, and then watch the film, and see what a mess they have made of the story. With this story, the film's story is excellent, as is the book. However, the book shows us more of the "real" India, whereas the film's version is about as unreal as it gets.

I am reading one of Agathat Christie's book right now: The Sittaford Mystery. Whenever I am in between new books, I choose a book from my shelves randomly. Will want to read her autobiography again as well.

I am reading one of the books I bought the other day: Fried Green Tomatoes At The Whistle Stop Cafe. It's a really good read.
Although I usually read only at night, over the last couple of days, I have spent more time in the conservatory and read. It's nice and relaxing, and it keeps me away from the computer a bit, which is good, because my neck and shoulders get cramped from sitting in the same position all the time.
